Complete beginners
We continue to follow the STAnley Series as this award goes up to 5 years. However, we keep things more progressive: placing more emphasis on body position, strengthening arm movements in the water and perfecting the kick action for front and back stroke.
We start introducing lots of fun skills like treading water; push and glides under water; turntables; lots of different jumping styles; different floats; working on their front and back crawl actions and swimming 5 metres without any aid or support - as the children progress so do their outcomes!
Octopus series 1-3 award
After the STAnley series, from the age of 5, swimmers in this class can work towards the progressive Goldfish award.
